Duchess of Malfi: Assistant Director

Bard in the Botanics are looking for an experienced Assistant Director to work alongside Jennifer Dick on her production of John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi, to be staged in the Kibble Palace as part of this year’s Bard in the Botanics summer season.

Job Description:

  • To assist the Director in the delivery of her vision for the production.

  • Provide support for the Director in the rehearsal room.

  • Attend all rehearsals, including technical and dress rehearsals.

  • Attend production meetings as required.

  • They will, on occasion, be required to run rehearsals, when the Director is not in attendance

  • Contract dates are Wednesday 24th June - Friday 17th July inclusive.

  • All rehearsals & performances take place in Glasgow

  • Fee: £2,000

Essential Requirements:

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of working as a Director, Associate Director or Assistant Director on a professional production.

  • As relocation costs are not available for this position, applicants must have a base in Glasgow for the duration of the contract.
